Afscheid: Goodbye Zambia ...

Different countries, but still children from the soil

Lord creator of heaven and earth
Thank you for the beauty of our land
This is for sure Africa is in Your hands

Open spaces far a field, pureness of thee eye
Countries shape like a puzzle on your belly
Rich in diamonds, gold and iron
We love this nature, we love this land

Pink, green, blue and yellow
colours from thee flowers
All created by YOUR hands all in shape none out of place
We are the children from this land
Mother Africa, we are the children from your soil

Like tears rolling down my eyes
So does God, pouring out blessings of rain down from the sky
Wetting the core of thee earth and depths of her heart
Mother Africa, we are the children from your soil

She brings forth food with love from her soil
Providing for the needs of all
Mama africa we are the soil from your belly
Children of Africa

Blessings to our God
Blessings to our King
We as the off spring of Africa
Thank you Lord for everything

For the beautiness of this land
Africa and all is in your hand
Countries far away devided by oceans and borders of shame
We are the children from your soil
Mama Africa, oh Africa
We are the children from the soil
AFRICA, AFRICA

Final Product - Part 2!

Final product: Workshop

The workshop is a result of my study in which both lecturers and students from the ECE program were questioned. Out of the interviews and focus groups discussion four needs where concluded. One of the needs is more teaching and learning materials in class. In the workshop students created these materials, so they have more examples of materials that are used in practice. In addition, the workshop was an opportunity for them to develop their own skills. This skill are needed to teach in the pre-schools. Due to lack of funding, it is important that teachers are able to develop their own material and be creative, but above all they should try to find time to create teaching and learning materials. This workshop is a good example.

After the introduction the students were divided into four groups. Each group was tasked to develop teaching and learning materials for a particular problem. For instance:
Group 1- Landisa (Girl) - 4 years old- visual impairment
Group 2 - Cliford (boy) - 6 years old- learning disability

International Woman's Day!

Happy Women's Day
As a woman I died several times in this life
But just being a woman, I had to courage to raise again
As a woman, I fell to the gutters of chauvinism
Yet, just being a woman, I took that in stride of my feminism

As a woman, I cried several unending nights
Yet, I showed up a brave face and ready to fight
As a woman, I hurried to several trains to catch
Yet, I never left behind any unfinished match

As a woman, I loved being loved all the time
Yet, I had the courage to withstand ditching too
As a woman, I always liked to be dressed the best
But just being a woman, I did dress up to the situations true

As a woman, I shared my meal and peace all the time
Yet, I also learnt to let go my meal for a cause in tide
As a woman, I got shunned by the people of the society
Yet, I stood back and said, I am proud to be what I am as a woman

As a woman, I know I glorified everything that I liked
Yet, I had the right to reject what is not right in its form
As a woman, I lent my shoulders for friends to lean on
But just being a woman, I warned them not to be vulnerable on

As a woman, I know the struggles are many and always on
Yet being a woman, I know God made us that way to deal on
As a woman, I like the way You look at me and say so
But just being a woman, remember I am not a show case piece

As a woman, I love rest of my women folks who are wonderful
In not just the way they are, but for being great friends too
For being enduring Mothers, efficient professionals, loving daughters
And for being great wives and being Divas in their own Right!
